Local Area Network System (LANS) Cyber Security Specialists detect, prevent, and correct threats to the security of a computer network. They train as network administrators with a special focus on security. On the job, they might perform risk assessments, test data processing systems, encrypt data transmissions, and implement defense measures such as firewalls to protect an organization’s computer network from viruses and cyber-attacks. They may also monitor networks for threats and investigate security breaches.
