Diagnostic Medical Imaging — Radiology

Diagnostic medical imaging technologists, also known as radiology technologists, use advanced equipment to provide potentially life-saving diagnoses. Once a patient comes under their care, technologists are responsible for assessing the patient’s condition and mobility. They will then give assistance to help the patient get positioned for imaging. They practice safety measures to protect the patient, themselves, and the facility from unnecessary exposure to radiation in compliance with government regulations. The technologist will take images and evaluate the quality of the image before developing the x-ray film that will be used in diagnosing the patient’s condition.
